Capture & Review / Workflow Guide

After Writing It Down, Let Inspiration Strike Again

Capturing is only the beginning. Set aside moments for organizing, linking, and serendipitous review, letting past thoughts participate in today's thinking.

01. Lower the barrier to entry

Don't wait for thoughts to feel fully formed before writing them down. A single sentence, an open question, or a snippet you want to chew on later can become a card. Light capture is sustainable capture.

02. Separate capture from processing

FlashNote offers three card types: Inspiration, Information, and Tasks. Give new cards a quick initial triage, then process them in batches: archive what is valuable, discard what has expired.

03. Let two cards speak to each other

An idea might stem from a recent reading or inspire a future action. By linking cards through continuation, inspiration, or examples, scattered notes weave into a cohesive intellectual trail.

04. Give the past another chance to surface

Reviewing doesn't have to start from the newest note. Browse past cards at random, watching for connections to what you care about right now. When an old spark meets a fresh context, that's often where the next breakthrough begins.
